Mt. Bachelor to Open

Skiing and snowboarding by Thanksgiving makes just about everyone happy!

WEATHER ALERT . . . Strong winds have pushed back the opening until 11/24!

Mt. Bachelor announced yesterday that they’ll kick off the the 2011-2012 season at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, November 23. The lifts scheduled to run are Pine Martin, Skyliners, and Sunshine Accelerator. Parking will be at West Village only.

43″ Base

As of this morning, Mt. Bachelor showed a healthy base of 43″. The forecast also looks promising:

This Afternoon: Scattered snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 12. Wind chill values as low as -5. West wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Tonight: A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 19 by 1am. Southwest wind around 6 mph.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 28. West wind around 6 mph.
Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph increasing to between 17 and 20 mph. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Monday: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. Breezy, with a southwest wind between 21 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph.
Monday Night: Snow likely. Mostly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 26.
Tuesday: Snow likely. Cloudy and windy, with a high near 39.
Tuesday Night: A chance of snow. Cloudy and very windy, with a low around 29.
Wednesday: Snow likely. Cloudy and windy, with a high near 38.
Wednesday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 26.
Thanksgiving Day: Snow showers likely. Cloudy and breezy, with a high near 31.
Thursday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy and windy, with a low around 20.
Friday: Snow likely. Cloudy and breezy, with a high near 31.
